Douglas Clayton

With 26 years of experience in frontier markets, Douglas is a commentator of the asset class at investment conferences, on financial television programs, and in print media publications. Prior to founding Leopard Capital in 2007 Douglas held senior executive positions at multi-national equities firms such as CLSA and Indosuez WI Carr, gaining frontline experience building and managing teams across Asia and Latin America. In 1999 Douglas founded Abacus Equity Partners which sourced and arranged two 10x private equity investments in two years. He is a Trustee of the Center for Khmer Studies and formerly served as Technical Advisor to the Director-General of Cambodia’s Securities & Exchange Commission. Douglas holds an MM from Thailand’s Chulalongkorn University and a BA in History from Cornell University.

Kenneth Stevens

joined Leopard Capital in 2007 and has over 23 years of operational and investment experience in Southeast Asia. After serving as head of research and an investment banker at CLSA Securities in Thailand, he spent ten years managing proprietary private equity investments in Thailand and Vietnam serving as CFO, managing director and serving on their Board. Mr. Stevens' specific operational experience includes financial management; property construction and management; project design; and service businesses such as hospitality, leisure and recreation. He holds a Masters Degree in International Management from Thunderbird and a BA from Cornell University, and is a CFA charter holder.

Richard Intrator

has a long and distinguished career in finance, private equity, management consulting, and operations. Prior to joining Leopard Capital he was the Executive in Residence at Stamford International University (Thailand). He earlier held senior roles with IMAX, Petry Media (a portfolio company of Patriarch Partners), PaineWebber, Kidder, Peabody, & Co., and Booz, Allen & Hamilton. His past Board memberships include The Lighthouse International (Vice Chairman), Juniper Content Corp., and Golden Books Family Entertainment. Mr. Intrator is a Certified Public Accountant, and has a B.S. from the Wharton School and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.

Lawrence Mackhoul

has over 12 years of investment experience in emerging and developed markets. He joined Leopard Capital in 2009 as part of the Leopard Cambodia investment team. Lawrence later transitioned to the Leopard Capital Global team in order to spearhead the groups expansion into Latin America and the Caribbean. In 2012 Lawrence led the successful launch of the first private equity fund for Haiti, the Leopard Haiti Fund. Before joining Leopard Capital he managed a real estate investment portfolio which achieved a 26% IRR over a 6 year period. He commenced his professional career at the CNN headquarters in Atlanta and later gained experience in the hotel industry while working with Marriott International. He holds an MIM from Sorbonne Université an MBA from Georgia State University and certificate from COPPEAD (University of Rio De Janeiro).

Reshma Alva

James Seymour

has compiled 35 years of investment and finance experience in emerging markets at SeedRock Corporation, EMP Global, Commonfund Capital, and Bankers Trust. As Co-Head of Investments for 13 years at Commonfund, Jim gained specialized knowledge of the key issues related to private equity investments in developing countries. He has served on 18 private equity advisory boards, including a number of Africa-focused funds, and is currently on the Advisory Board of the Emerging Markets Private Equity Association. Jim holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in International Relations from Yale University.

Olivier Younès, PhD, CPA

is the founding CEO of EXPEN, a consulting firm dedicated to private equity funds and to entrepreneurs. He is a founding Jury Member of D-Incubator (Dauphine University), an Affiliated Professor in private equity and entrepreneurship at HEC Paris Business School and a senior lecturer at Dauphine University. He also serves as a member of the French PE Association’s Training Commission (AFIC). Olivier gained a 10-year experience in private equity investment, covering both emerging markets (Egypt, Algeria, Kuwait and Ukraine; USD200M raised and managed) and France (18 SMEs financed, 14 exited, positive track record). Leveraging this track-record, his PhD thesis proposes a specific private equity approach to emerging markets - based on venture capital best practices. Prior to joining the private equity arena, Olivier had a 5-year track in audit and corporate finance.

Thomas Hugger

is the investment manager of Asia Frontier Fund, which invests in public equities in 12 frontier market across Asia. He served as Managing Partner, Chief Operations Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Portfolio Manager at Leopard Capital until mid-2013. Earlier he spent over two decades trading equities and managing investment portfolios at private banks, finishing as Managing Director and Head of Portfolio Management at LGT Bank, Hong Kong after holding positions at LGT Bank in Zurich and Bank Julius Baer in Zurich and Hong Kong. Mr. Hugger is a CFIA – (Federal) Certified Financial Analyst and Investment Adviser – in Switzerland, and a Certified EFFAS (European Federation of Financial Analysts Societies) Financial Analyst. He is fluent in English and German and has working knowledge of French.

Scott Lewis

is Head of Corporate Finance for Oryx Petroleum, an oil exploration and production company focused on Africa and the Middle East. He served as Chief Investment Officer of Leopard Cambodia Fund from 2008 until mid-2012. Earlier he was a Director of Merrill Lynch’s Global Energy & Power investment banking group, and a member of the investment teams of two US-based private equity groups, First Reserve Corp. and Sterling Group. Scott received an MPA and a BBA (Accounting) with High Honors from the University of Texas at Austin.

Terry Mahony

has over 40 years of professional experience in investment management and financial services. After 20 years in Institutional Sales at White Weld and Paine Webber in Geneva , Hong Kong, and New York (1970-1990), Mr. Mahony joined Baring International Investment Management in Boston to serve as Director and Chief Investment Officer of Latin America, where he launched the highly successful Baring Puma Latin America Fund. In 1993 he joined HSBC Asset Management as Chief Investment Officer for Global Emerging Markets and Member of the Global Asset Allocation Committee, and launched HSBC’s first Global Emerging Markets fund. From 1996 to 1999 Mr. Mahony served as Trust Company of the West’s Managing Director for Emerging Markets Equities, Chief Investment Officer of Global Emerging Markets, and President of TCW Asia Ltd., overseeing up to $2.2 billion of assets under management. He spent 6 months pro-tem in Ho Chi Minh City as CIO for the London listed IndoChina Capital Fund. Mr. Mahony currently serves as Chairman of Platinum Advisory International Inc., and is on the board of several UK London listed Investment Trusts. Mr. Mahony holds an MBA (INSEAD) and a BA (Oxford).

Dr. Jim Walker

From 1991 to 2007, he was Chief Economist and Director of CLSA Asia-Pacific Markets. He was voted best regional surveys of the Asiamoney Stockbrokers Poll for 11 consecutive years (1994-2004) and recieved frequent #1 rankings in Greenwich survey of fund managers in Asia, Europe and USA. He holds a BA (Honors) and PhD in economics from University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.

Andrew Fraser

graduated from St John's College, Oxford after which he held numerous posts in the financial sector both in the City of London and elsewhere. He was CEO of Baring Securities in the UK, Chairman of Equity Partners Ltd., a Bangladesh investment bank, and Chairman of Bridge Securities, a quoted Korean company, amongst other posts. At present he is a director of an Asian hedge fund and a global investor.

Alex de Lesseps

is a Director of BlueOrchard Finance, a Geneva-based lender to microfinance institutions, and the President of Pandaw Investment Holdings, an emerging markets private equity firm. Earlier in his career he founded two US film production companies, Intertel USA and Tanit Productions, and a French personal care manufacturer, Les Laboratoires de l'Atlantique, and was also an angel investor in California Pizza Kitchen. Mr. de Lesseps was awarded with the Fulbright Humanitarian Award in 2004.

Anthony Moody

has forty years experience in the capital markets, investment banking, investment and wealth management industry, all with operating, financial, or fiduciary responsibility. Twenty two years of this experience has been in Asia, the majority managing the capital markets and wealth management businesses of Continental Bank and its acquirer Bank of America. He is Executive Chairman for Asia of the Sindicatum Carbon Capital Group, a sustainable natural resources company that produces clean energy and environmental commodities through the reduction of carbon emissions. Prior to his role with Sindicatum Anthony was CEO for Asia of Zurich Scudder Investments, the asset management arm of Zurich Financial Services, a member of the firm’s Global Management Committee, and Chairman of Scudder Investments Japan. Anthony is a Director of The Komodo Fund (Indonesian listed equities) and Pandaw Investment Holdings (private equity in Myanmar) and is an active investor in private equity. On a ‘pro bono’ basis he actively supports the promotion of higher standards of corporate governance and sustainable responsible investment, and microfinance. He holds a BA Degree in Economics from the University of Wales.

Paul Supramaniam

is one of Southeast Asia’s top M&A lawyers. He is Chairman and Managing Partner of Law Asia, a Pan-Asian international law firm headquartered with offices and associated offices in Singapore, Bangalore, Bangkok, Brunei, Chennai, Colombo, Jakarta, London, Mumbai, New Delhi and Phnom Penh. Until recently he was a Senior Partner in the international law firm, Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP, and its Asian Regional Head. Mr. Supramaniam has led numerous privatisations, cross border mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and capital markets transactions in various emerging markets. He serves as a senior officer in the Singapore Armed Forces, and sits on the Singapore British Business Council and on the boards of various charities. Note: Mr. Supramaniam participates in Leopard Capital in a personal capacity.

Dr. Gordian Gaeta

is one of Asia’s leading banking consultants and risk control experts. He has developed strategies and business plans for many of Asia’s leading financial services businesses, capital markets organizations, and stock exchanges, and advised or served close to half of the top 100 banks worldwide. Previously an academic and banker in several countries, Dr. Gaeta started his consulting career with Booz Allen & Hamilton in London. He moved to Hong Kong in the early 1980s to become the strategy advisor to Standard Chartered Bank. In 1991 Dr. Gaeta became Managing Partner for Booz Allen & Hamilton for financial services across Asia. Since leaving Booz Allen in 1998, Dr. Gaeta has been an active private equity investor and a director or advisor to a range of entrepreneurial companies. He continues to advise financial services groups at the Board or CEO level, and also undertakes corporate restructurings. Dr Gaeta has published around 20 articles on banking and financial services and several books, notably “Frontiers in Credit Risk”. He is also a popular speaker on the international conference circuit, and a guest lecturer at several universities. Dr. Gaeta received PhD and LL.M degrees from the University of Vienna.

Richard Leonard

is a an active investor and entrepreneur in frontier markets such as Colombia, Peru, and Afghanistan, through ventures such as FertiVerde, Biscayne Resources, and Oxiana Energy.  After serving as a Captain in the US Marines, Mr. Leonard was an oil analyst for Eastman Dillon, and a Senior Vice President of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities where he spent three decades in international management and institutional sales positions.  Mr. Leonard also served as TIR Securities/E*Trade’s Managing Director for Southeast Asia.

Nobuya Saito

has more than 25 years experience in investment banking, especially in emerging markets. After serving as head of Japanese securities sales in Yamaichi Middle East, Bahrain, head of non-Japanese securities sales in Yamaichi U.K. London, and Executive Vice President in Chao Phraya Finance & Securities, Bangkok, he established his own investment consulting firm in 1998. He acquired his brokerage license for Agricultural Futures from the Thai Government and established JSP Futures, the first derivatives brokerage company in Thailand. Mr. Saito studied Arabic at the American University in Cairo, and Arab-Afro History at Cairo University.

Paul Kaju

Patrick Davenport

has 21 years of manufacturing, import/export, and investment experience as a private entrepreneur in India, China, and Thailand. He is also a Director of Knight Pacific Fund, Siam Knight Fund Management Securities, and two listed companies, Focus Development and Construction (Thailand) and Rubfila International (India).
