Douglas Clayton

Chief Executive Officer

founded Leopard Capital in 2007, and has over 26 years experience in emerging markets investments. As a senior executive at CLSA Securities, Indosuez WI Carr Securities, and Kerry Securities, he managed investment teams in Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, New York City, Mexico, Brazil, Venezuela, Argentina, and Chile. In 1999 Douglas founded Abacus Equity Partners which arranged and participated in several of Thailand’s most successful private equity investments. He serves as Technical Advisor to the Director-General of the Securities & Exchange Commission of Cambodia, and Trustee of the Center for Khmer Studies. Douglas holds an MM from Thailand’s Chulalongkorn University and a BA (History) from Cornell University.

Joseph Lovell

Group COO & General Counsel

has more than two decades of Asia-focused business, investment, and legal experience. Prior to joining Leopard Capital, he served, among other roles, as Managing Director and General Counsel for a financial group with offices in New York and Beijing, Corporate Counsel for an AIM-listed private equity firm, senior consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Managing Attorney at a Honolulu law firm, and board member for a number of companies and not-for-profit entities. His expertise includes private equity investment, corporate law, and business management. He is licensed to practice law in New York, Texas, and Hawaii. Joseph has a BS degree from Georgetown University (Chinese Language), and MA (Asian Studies) and JD degrees from the University of Hawaii. He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese and has a working knowledge of Thai, Min Nan, and French.

Lawrence Mackhoul

Investment Associate

was Managing Partner of 31.7 Acquisitions, a real estate investment firm which achieved a 26% IRR over 5 years. Earlier he worked in real estate finance at Georgia Southern Mortgage Group, operations at the Atlanta Marriott Marquis, and International Protocol Affairs at CNN. He holds an MBA from Georgia State University and an MIM from Sorbonne Université. Lawrence is fluent in Spanish and English.

Reshma Alva

ESG Officer

has over eight years of work experience in maximizing social impact. Reshma has worked in a variety of roles, including consultant, strategic planner, program manager, financier, and fundraiser in organizations focused on social finance, social services, governance, and capacity building. She earned a BA from the University of Michigan, an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, and an MPA from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Reshma is fluent in English and has basic knowledge of French and Tulu.

Margaret Kwok

Accounting & Administration Officer

has over 30 years of prior work experience in accounting, administration, and financial services at institutions such as Christfund Securities, PFC International, and Guoyuan Securities. She holds advanced level certificates in Accounting & Costing from London Chamber of Commerce & Industry and a Certificate in Accountancy from Kwai Chung Technical Institute. Margaret is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.

Dr. Marc Faber

is Executive Director of Marc Faber Limited, an investment advisor and fund manager for private clients. He is the author of the widely read newsletter Gloom, Boom and Doom Report, which highlights unusual investment opportunities around the world, and the book Tomorrow's Gold - Asia's Age of Discovery, a Best-Seller in 2002. Well-known for his contrarian investment approach, Dr. Faber is a popular speaker at investment conferences and in media panels, and serves as a director of a number of international investment funds.

Henry Looser

retired as Director and Chief of Private Banking at Bank Julius Baer in Zurich and Deputy Chairman of the Management of Bank Julius Baer. He was also President of Julius Baer Swiss Capital Market Research Ltd., President of Bank Julius Baer (Guernsey) Ltd., President of Julius Baer Investment Advisors (Hong Kong) Ltd., and President of the Swiss Financial Analysts Association, among several other functions in international banking and investment management.

Terry Mahony

has over 40 years of professional experience in investment management and financial services. After 20 years in Institutional Sales at White Weld and Paine Webber in Geneva , Hong Kong, and New York (1970-1990), Mr. Mahony joined Baring International Investment Management in Boston to serve as Director and Chief Investment Officer of Latin America, where he launched the highly successful Baring Puma Latin America Fund. In 1993 he joined HSBC Asset Management as Chief Investment Officer for Global Emerging Markets and Member of the Global Asset Allocation Committee, and launched HSBC’s first Global Emerging Markets fund. From 1996 to 1999 Mr. Mahony served as Trust Company of the West’s Managing Director for Emerging Markets Equities, Chief Investment Officer of Global Emerging Markets, and President of TCW Asia Ltd., overseeing up to $2.2 billion of assets under management. He spent 6 months pro-tem in Ho Chi Minh City as CIO for the London listed IndoChina Capital Fund. Mr. Mahony currently serves as Chairman of Platinum Advisory International Inc., and is on the board of several UK London listed Investment Trusts. Mr. Mahony holds an MBA (INSEAD) and a BA (Oxford).

Paul Supramaniam

is one of Southeast Asia’s top M&A lawyers. He is Chairman and Managing Partner of Law Asia, a Pan-Asian international law firm headquartered with offices and associated offices in Singapore, Bangalore, Bangkok, Brunei, Chennai, Colombo, Jakarta, London, Mumbai, New Delhi and Phnom Penh. Until recently he was a Senior Partner in the international law firm, Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP, and its Asian Regional Head. Mr. Supramaniam has led numerous privatisations, cross border mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments and capital markets transactions in various emerging markets. He serves as a senior officer in the Singapore Armed Forces, and sits on the Singapore British Business Council and on the boards of various charities. Note: Mr. Supramaniam participates in Leopard Capital in a personal capacity.

Andrew Fraser

graduated from St John's College, Oxford after which he held numerous posts in the financial sector both in the City of London and elsewhere. He was CEO of Baring Securities in the UK, Chairman of Equity Partners Ltd., a Bangladesh investment bank, and Chairman of Bridge Securities, a quoted Korean company, amongst other posts. At present he is a director of an Asian hedge fund and a global investor.

Richard Leonard

is a an active investor and entrepreneur in frontier markets such as Colombia, Peru, and Afghanistan, through ventures such as FertiVerde, Biscayne Resources, and Oxiana Energy.  After serving as a Captain in the US Marines, Mr. Leonard was an oil analyst for Eastman Dillon, and a Senior Vice President of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette Securities where he spent three decades in international management and institutional sales positions.  Mr. Leonard also served as TIR Securities/E*Trade’s Managing Director for Southeast Asia.

Nobuya Saito

has more than 25 years experience in investment banking, especially in emerging markets. After serving as head of Japanese securities sales in Yamaichi Middle East, Bahrain, head of non-Japanese securities sales in Yamaichi U.K. London, and Executive Vice President in Chao Phraya Finance & Securities, Bangkok, he established his own investment consulting firm in 1998. He acquired his brokerage license for Agricultural Futures from the Thai Government and established JSP Futures, the first derivatives brokerage company in Thailand. Mr. Saito studied Arabic at the American University in Cairo, and Arab-Afro History at Cairo University.
